Through their first two games, Utah has been without star quarterback Cam Rising, but they also have been without star tight end Brant Kuithe

The three-time All-Pac-12 tight end has been dealing with some injury issues the past couple of years as he only played in four games a year ago, and doesn't seem close to making his debut yet. While making an appearance on ESPN 700, Kuithe shut down the notion that he is just sitting out to save himself for the NFL but instead will play when he feels ready. The only issue, he just isn't sure when exactly he will be ready to go.

The No. 12 Utes are 2-0 thus far, and while they were able to easily handle Florida, their Week 2 win over Baylor was one that truly could have gone either way. Luckily for Utah, they will be hosting in-state foe Weber State who theoretically shouldn't give them nearly as much trouble as their first two opponents.

In his absence, Utah's two reserve tight ends have combined for five catches for 45 yards. Not to mention, Bryson Barnes and Nate Johnson only have one touchdown through the air between the two of them which was actually the first offensive play of the season.

It is safe to say that Utah could really use Rising and Kuithe to get the passing game going, but it is unclear when they will play.
