Tuesday evening, West Virginia safety Aubrey Burks and linebacker Tray Lathan returned to Morgantown and are set to join the team on Wednesday.

The two left the game last Saturday in the win over TCU with the assistance of the medical cart and stayed in a local Ft. Worth hospital for further observation.

On Sunday, Burks was cleared and walked under his own power, meanwhile, Lathan remained in the hospital, and had season-ending surgery.

Head coach Neal Brown provided an update during his weekly press conference on Monday, stating, "Burks, all tests were negative, and he is, for what that was, he's in good spirits and he's going to be okay. That was scary, but best possible results. All his tests were negative and so, he'll go through protocol and then be on his way."

"Trey had successful surgery yesterday (Sunday). He's gonna miss the year obviously, but he's expected to make a full recovery."
