BYU vs Boise State Injury Update

BYU moves into Week 10 with some questions and more to come on who will play in this game as a starter for their position? BYU has some tough players out this week against Boise State. The offense has taken another direct hit as they lose another wide receiver and a running back. The Cougars have lost another player for the season and this time someone who has played a big role. All this information comes from various sources and the coaches’ interviews after practice. This week keep an eye out for more information on certain players if they play on Saturday.

Offense

The offense is going to be without several players on Saturday. Each of these has made an impact on the season and it will get harder for the offense to find their rhythm without them. Can this injury update provide any hope that the offense can still be good with these players out? Also, some big news as Kody Epps is done for the year. What impact will that have on the Cougar’s passing game?

Kody Epps

Kody Epps is done for the season after injuring his shoulder against Liberty. Coaches announced on Monday that he is done. So it’s time for someone else to step up for the wide receivers. As this group continues to take hits how many more before the receivers can’t pick the slack up?

Chris Brooks

Brooks is day-day with a hamstring injury according to coaches. He didn’t play last week so maybe the Cougars will have him this week as the running back group needs some more personnel to help put yards up and points on the board.

Jackson McChesney

McChesney is done for the year with an undisclosed injury.

Lane Lunt

Lunt and reserve tight end for the Cougars who didn’t play this season announced earlier this year that he is done for the year.

Gunner Romney

No update on Romney but he could play this week as he recovers and hopefully can play another game this season.

Defense

The defense is taking hits every week and hopefully the bye week next week will help them get some players back. That means that some younger less experienced players will need to step up. The defensive injury update this week is long.

Payton Wilgar

Wilgar reported that he has a high ankle sprain. No one has said how long he will be out but this could be more than just a couple of weeks. This will be another week the Cougars will be without one of their leaders on defense. Wilgar has been on this injury update a few times this year can he get back and help the Cougars maybe get one more win.

Blake Mangelson

Mangelson played last week so expect him to play again this week.

Max Tooley

Tooley missed last week with an undisclosed injury and no update was given for him. Hopefully, the Cougars can get him back as he has been a big part of their defense as has created a bunch of turnovers.

D’Angelo Mandell

Mandell has been out since the Wyoming game. Maybe the Cougars will see him on Saturday.

Chaz Ah You

Ah, You left lasts week’s game in the first quarter and didn’t return. Reports were that he was seen in a boot on the sideline but the coaches gave no update. He was rocking in his first game of the season and he was playing a great game.

Ethan Slade

Slade left the East Carolina game and also didn’t return as he tried to help the defense improve.

Carter Krupp

Krupp left in the third quarter and didn’t return. The coaches also didn’t provide an update on him.

Malik Moore

Is out for the season with an undisclosed injury.

Josh Larsen

Left early and the season and is out for the rest of it.
