Coastal Carolina thought they were going to be looking for a new quarterback last year when Grayson McCall entered the transfer portal. He withdrew his name and played out the 2023 season. Now, he will test the portal again. McCall announced that he plans to enter the transfer portal.

Coastal Carolina QB Grayson McCall To Enter Transfer Portal

McCall has amassed a lot of stats during his time with the Chanticleers. In his career, he has 10,005 passing yards, 88 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions along with 18 touchdowns on the ground. This season he dealt with some injuries that limited him to seven games but he would be a great piece for a team looking to win a championship but was just a quarterback away. He will enter the portal as a senior.

Lots Of Quarterbacks On The Move

McCall wasn’t the only big name of the day. Arkansas quarterback KJ Jefferson announced his intention to enter the transfer portal. These are just two of the slew of quarterbacks looking for new programs to play for. All of them are transferring for different reasons. Some are because of a change in coaching staff and some for playing time. The nature of college football is that players can easily move schools. Many will try their hand at a new situation if they sour on their current one.

Grayson McCall will now get a chance to play for a top-tier program. Coastal Carolina saw success under McCall and now he is looking to bring that to a Power-5 conference.
