Freshman Marquis Stewart was arrested earlier this morning after stabbing teammate Dhameer Madison three times in the rib cage with a with a corkscrew. Stewart, 18, was charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault.

The incident took place at 2 a.m. Monday morning, when Stewart initiated a physical confrontation with Madison inside a dorm room in Crowley Hall on the Albright College campus. Fellow students attempted to break up the fight, but the two football players were simply too strong to be subdued until police arrived.

Madison, who did not realize the extent on his injuries until after the fight ended, was taken to Reading Hospital, where he is in stable condition.
