Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders claps back at Barstool Sports host's power rankings

Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders has inherited a ton from his father, Deion Sanders, also known as "Coach Prime."

The two were the talk of the college football world last season after a hot start that saw Colorado go 3-0 in Sanders' first three games as head coach of the program. Coach Prime and the Buffs couldn't keep up the momentum, ultimately finishing 4-8, but that's not to say Shedeur himself wasn't a success.

He didn't live up to the early-season Heisman hype, but he did still finish with 3,230 yards and 27 touchdowns to his name against just three interceptions. He also rushed for four touchdowns, bringing his 2023 total to 31.

That's not a half-bad season, and there's reason to believe Sanders will be even better in his second campaign at Colorado. That may be why the young quarterback took exception with a recent 2024 quarterback ranking from Brandon Walker of Barstool Sports.

Walker ranked Sanders 10th in the nation. Sanders didn't seem to agree with that assessment.

For comparison's sake, Georgia quarterback Carson Beck threw for 3,941 yards and 24 touchdowns with six intercepts last season, and he's expected to be even better next season. He's perfectly fine on top of Walker's list, but Carson has 28 total touchdowns to Sanders' 31.

Should there really be such a big gap between them in these rankings?

Sanders obviously doesn't think so, and you can bet Coach Prime will take exception as well.
