On April 25, just before the first round of the 2024 NFL draft, Deion Sanders brought joy to Colorado football fans by announcing his commitment to coach the Buffaloes for at least the next five years, and possibly even a decade.

During an appearance on the All the Smoke podcast, as reported by Bleacher Report, Sanders addressed speculation about his future once his sons ascend to the NFL in 2025.

“A lot of people wonder about my next move once my kids go pro. They ask if I’ll follow them into the NFL,” Sanders explained. “But a true father leads; he doesn’t follow. I’m here to stay. I love Boulder, Colorado, and I’m excited to see them succeed at the next level while I continue my work here.”

Colorado football’s future under Sanders looks bright, according to insights from BuffStampede.com’s Adam Munsterteiger.

Despite some players transferring out, Munsterteiger, citing sources from 247Sports, emphasized that those who left were unlikely to be starters. He argued that the overall talent of the team has improved after each transfer window, suggesting that concerns about player departures are often overblown.

“Last weekend marked a significant milestone with non-graduate transfers visiting and four new commitments to the team,” Munsterteiger noted. “It’s important to trust the process that Coach Prime has been implementing. It’s unorthodox but effective, drawing national attention and continually enhancing our roster.”

The unconventional approach taken by Sanders doesn’t just resonate within the team but also among the sports analysts and local community. There’s a strong consensus that Colorado is set to be Sanders’ long-term base.

Reinforcing this commitment, Sanders’ sons have purchased a mansion for him in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, ensuring their father has a comfortable base to continue his coaching endeavors at CU.
