Mississippi State Bulldogs cornerback Decamerion Richardson will take a visit to Oregon starting on Wednesday evening, a source told Ducks Digest.

Richardson entered the transfer portal earlier in the day on Wednesday after spending the last four years in Starkville.

The 6-foot-2, 195-pound defensive back leaves the Bulldogs having recorded 177 total tackles, 10 pass breakups, 1 sack and 2 tackles for loss.

He was the No. 4 graded cornerback in the SEC for the 2023 season according to Pro Football Focus. Richardson graded out with an 86.5 coverage grade, a 73.6 run defense grade and a 74.8 pass rush grade on 781 total snaps.

Richardson signed with Mississippi State as a three-star (0.8674 per 247Sports Composite) recruit from Bossier City (La.) Bossier High School in the 2020 recruiting class. He was a part of the same class as running back Dillon Johnson, who's now at Washington.

The Ducks are likely bringing Richardson in as a plug-and-play replacement for Khyree Jackson, a senior cornerback who declared for the 2024 NFL Draft last week. With Jackson's departure the Ducks would likely start Jahlil Florence and Dontae Manning as their top two cornerbacks in 2024.

Behind that duo they have players like Nikko Reed, Cole Martin, Rodrick Pleasant and Daylen Austin that fill out the cornerback room under coach Demetrice Martin.

Richardson is one of three players with Louisiana ties that the Ducks are pursuing in the transfer portal, along with Louisiana Tech wide receiver Cyrus Allen and Mississippi State wide receiver Zavion Thomas.
