During the first round of the NFL Draft, the Detroit Lions were once again aggressive in its pursuit of an Alabama game-breaker on offense.
For the second year in a row, the Lions used the No. 12 pick on a Crimson Tide player as it selected running back Jahmyr Gibbs. Gibbs, who was considered to be one of the top running backs in the draft alongside Bijan Robinson, has already garnered comparisons to Saints running back Alvin Kamara.
Although some draft analysts were puzzled by the enthused nature of the Lions to move up and pick Gibbs, the selection received an endorsement from another former Alabama player on social media.
Former Crimson Tide linebacker and New England Patriot, Dont’a Hightower, praised the pick while complementing Gibbs’ play.
