Former Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback Quinn Ewers has a fantastic outing for the Texas Longhorns on Saturday in the Big 12 Championship game.

The ex-Buckeyes signal caller led his new team to a 49-21 victory over the Oklahoma State Cowboys with four touchdowns and almost 500 passing yards.

Ewers has eclipsed 250 passing yards eight times this season, including his most-recent performance against the Cowboys. These contests include 349 yards against the then-No. 3 Alabama Crimson Tide on September 9, 325 yards against the then-No. 24 Kansas Jayhawks on September 30 and 346 yards against the then-No. 12 Oklahoma Sooners on October 7.

Ewers left the Buckeyes at the end of the 2021 season, deciding to head back to his home state instead of riding the bench in Columbus. The decision has seemed to pay off for the sophomore as he now is enjoying his second successful year as the Longhorns' starter.

Ohio State fans were rooting against Ewers and Texas, as the Orange and Cream are one of the teams that could possibly keep the Scarlet and Gray out of the College Football Playoff (CFP). The No. 6 Buckeyes and No. 7 Longhorns each have just a single loss on their resume, but the conference title will almost certainly give the edge to the latter team rather than the former.

The Longhorns strengthened their resume with the victory. Texas carries an 12-1 overall record and conference title into the final CFP selection show, which is scheduled to air at noon eastern on ESPN tomorrow.
