Networking is the name of the game in today’s society. Being able to connect and build relationships with those who carry more wisdom and experience than you do can be powerful. For former Penn State football LB Curtis Jacobs, you can say he took advantage of the resources available to him. During his Pro Day, Jacobs expressed how important it was for him to connect with Nittany Lion legends Jack Ham and Dan Connor throughout his career.
Curtis Jacobs discusses relationships with Penn State LB legends
On Friday, former Penn State football players gathered to complete their Pro Day ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft next month. Here, players such as Theo Johnson, Kalen King, Keaton Ellis, Trey Potts, Alex Felkins, Curtis Jacobs, and others went through various drills in front of NFL scouts to showcase their skill sets.
After the drills, Curtis Jacobs spoke with the Penn State media and provided some insight into some important connections he made during his career, specifically with Jack Ham and Dan Connor. Jacobs spoke about the relationships with the Nittany Lion legends and the importance of building more relationships at the next level stating, ” It’s incredibly important for me, and definitely want to do that when I get to the league.”
Ham was a former All-American who played linebacker at Penn State from 1968 to 1970, where he was an All-American. He went on to play for the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he won four Super Bowls in his NFL career.
Dan Connor is another Nittany Lion legend. Connor played for Penn State between 2004 and 2007, where he was a two-time All-American and set the program record in career tackles. Connor currently works for the Nittany Lions as a defensive analyst.
Look back at Curtis Jacobs’ Penn State career
Curtis Jacobs had high expectations the second he stepped on campus at Penn State. Jacobs was a five-star prospect, according to 247Sports in the 2020 recruiting class. During his Penn State career, he racked up 171 tackles, 24 tackles for loss, 9.5 sacks, and two inceptions in 45 games played.
He had a consistent career in Happy Valley and stayed healthy during his college career. Now, following his pro day he will look forward to April to begin the next chapter on the field.
