The Ole Miss Rebels have another transfer portal commit, as former Tennessee Volunteers edge rusher Tyler Baron announced via social media on Tuesday that he has officially flipped his commitment to the Louisville Cardinals. Baron's announcement can be viewed here.

Baron will join his former teammate in Louisville, safety/linebacker Tamarion McDonald, as the hybrid defender flipped from Ole Miss to the Cardinals last Monday. This announcement comes exactly a month after Baron committed to Ole Miss.

Over the course of his four-year college career, he has registered 102 tackles and 13.5 sacks. Baron is a native of Knoxville, and he played his prep ball at Knoxville Catholic, and is apparently still searching for a home away from home in the 2024 season.

According to On3's recruiting database, the former four-star recruit was rated as the No. 8 edge in the nation and the No. 4 player out of the state of Tennessee in the 2020 class. With Baron departing Ole Miss before he even suited up, the Rebels will likely be back on the market for an edge rusher/defensive end.

Ole Miss earned a commitment from the No. 1 edge in the portal, Princely Umanmielen, in December, but the Rebels could use depth on the opposite side. Unfortunately, the portal is rather bare of edge rusher talent at this point of the offseason, as most of the top players available have already found new homes.
