A few days after Shedeur Sanders publicly said he wanted LaJohntay Wester in Boulder, the Buffaloes QB got his wish. The former FAU wide receiver announced he was transferring to Colorado on Tuesday morning.

Wester had a career year at Florida Atlantic in 2023. The 5-foot-11, 175-pounder had 108 receptions for 1,168 receiving yards and eight touchdowns during his junior campaign. A 2023 FWAA All-America team selection as a punt returner. He had 2,703 receiving yards and 21 touchdowns as a two-year starter for the Owls. An original unrated recruit from Palmetto (Florida) as part of the 2020 class, who had only one offer during the height of the covid pandemic.

The Buffs get a huge addition with Wester being in the rotation. He'll be a day one contributor who gets to be featured in a higher-powered offensive attack and a quarterback who's currently a Heisman favorite. Wester is the 20th transfer for Colorado and the fourth receiver during this period. He'll join one of the best receiver rooms in the nation led by Paul Hornung Award winner Travis Hunter and Jimmy Horn, Jr. as returning stars.

Wester has a year of eligibility remaining on the books.
