COLUMBIA, Miss. -- Florida redshirt sophomore offensive tackle Austin Barber will be unavailable for Florida's Week 12 contest at No. 9 Missouri on Saturday evening as he recovers from an upper-body injury suffered against LSU in Week 11.

The Gators listed Barber as questionable on their Week 12 injury report and was observed entering Faurot Field at Memorial Stadium with his arm in a sling.

Barber took over as Florida's starting left tackle this season after serving a valuable swing role in 2022, rotating with Richard Gouraige and Michael Tarquin or filling in for either player due to injury on both sides of the line. Barber received Freshman All-American First Team honors from College Football News for his efforts last season.

He's occupied the first-team role in nine games this season, having previously missed Florida's home contest against Vanderbilt in Week 6 with a lower-body injury.

Expected to start in Barber's place is Damieon George Jr., a redshirt sophomore and Florida's typical starting right tackle, based on the team's operation without Barber against LSU in Week 11. Redshirt sophomore Kamryn Waites is slated to fill in for George at right tackle, with redshirt senior Lyndell Hudson II serving as the Gators' swing tackle.

The Gators will also be without the following players against the Tigers, according to their injury report.

  • WR Caleb Douglas (lower body) — out
  • TE Jonathan Odom (upper body) — out
  • LB Shemar James (lower body) — out
  • EDGE Jack Pyburn (lower body) — out
  • CB Devin Moore (upper body) — out

Florida vs. Missouri is scheduled to kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET/6:30 p.m. CT on Saturday evening.
