The Georgia Bulldogs and the Florida Gators are long-hated rivals in the SEC East and are typically accustomed to battles on the recruiting trail. Though as of late, Georgia head coach Kirby Smart has had his way with not only Florida and the ensuing battles, but the rest of college football as well. Billy Napier and the Florida Gators got one back in the win column today however as Michai Boireau commits to Florida over Georgia.

The 3-star is a defensive lineman from  Hampton, GA, and is currently ranked as a Top-100 DL in the 2024 class. He would have been a big pickup for the Bulldogs, who always want to bolster their depth at the nose tackle position.

The 6’ 5” 390 lb nose tackle is the second recruitment in as many weeks that has involved these two SEC East foes. Chauncey Bowens, a four-star running back, flipped from the Gators to Georgia and now Gators head coach Billy Napier gets a little revenge here in the form of Boireau.

Smart and his staff have landed commitments following back-to-back major recruiting weekends. 4-star Dl Justin Greene4-star RB Chauncey Bowens, and Jordan Thomas were the latest to announce that they were committing to the "G," joining Jaden Reddell, who also announced his commitment following the news of Dylan Raiola.

Smart's ability as a recruiter has been proven repeatedly, consistently having a top-three recruiting class since he took over the reins eight years ago. The Bulldogs have already solidified themselves as the dominant force on the field and continue to do so off the field.

Since Raiola has joined Dawg Nation, the Bulldogs have gained serious momentum on the recruiting trail, picking up three more commits since his. With Boireau announcing his commitment, it can only lead to more good news for Smart and the Georgia football program from the 2024 class.
