An Alabama football alum wants to help this Crimson Tide defense.

Nick Gentry, a native of Prattville, Ala., was a two-time BCS National Champion for the Tide. He was an undersized defensive lineman, but Gentry played with a non-stop motor. He was highly impactful for Alabama in its 2011 national championship season, totaling 23 tackles, six tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, and four quarterback hurries. Gentry assisted the Tide to a dominant showing against Louisiana State University in the 2012 BCS National Championship Game. He helped shut down LSU’s offense, allowing it to cross midfield once in a 21-0 victory. Coach Nick Saban may want to take Gentry up on his offer, especially after Alabama’s defense failed to get pressure on Hendon Hooker of Tennessee. Gentry wants to teach ‘real Bama defense’ to the team.

It is time to see some alums return to Tuscaloosa and show these athletes what it means to buy into the Alabama culture.
