It has been nearly two weeks since the Southeastern Conference Championship Game, but the University of Georgia has lost several players to the NCAA transfer portal.

Alabama earned a 27-24 victory over the Bulldogs at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Dec. 2, but the score did not indicate the dominance the Crimson Tide had against Georgia. Alabama handed Kirby Smart’s team its first loss in 30 games, knocking it out of the College Football Playoff bracket. The Tide sent the Bulldogs to the Orange Bowl to play Florida State, and it made a few players decide to test the portal. Ryan Anderson, a University of Alabama alumnus, took a shot at Georgia after it lost a significant linebacker to the portal. Anderson, a two-time National Champion in 2012 and 2015, was a decorative linebacker for the Tide.

He was also a marquee piece of the ferocious 2016 Alabama defense that put the fear of God into opponents.

Jamon Dumas-Johnson is the linebacker the Bulldogs lost to the portal.

He started the campaign as a preseason All-American and has 126 career tackles, 17.5 tackles for loss, and nine sacks. Dumas-Johnson turned in 34 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, two pass breakups, and a quarterback hurry this season. People are wondering if Alabama broke Georgia in its victory over the Bulldogs with a team that most thought Georgia would handle.

Anderson is enjoying his Alma mater being back on top of things. Alabama faces Michigan in the Rose Bowl on New Year’s Day and has an opportunity to compete for a CFP National Championship.
