The 2023 NFL Draft has come and gone and players across the country are letting the ink dry on their newly minted contracts. Florida State safety Jammie Robinson was the only 'Nole drafted this year, getting selected in the fifth round by the Carolina Panthers (145th overall).

Robinson wasn't the only former Seminole to find a new home by the end of the draft. Former defensive tackle Robert Cooper announced on Saturday night that he would be signing on with the Seattle Seahawks to begin his professional career.

Cooper signed with FSU as part of the class of 2018. He was a composite 4-star recruit out of South Gwinnett High School in Snellville, Georgia, and was ranked ninth in the country at his position before committing to the 'Noles. He was ranked 117th nationally and was the 15th-ranked prospect in his state.

During his five years in Tallahassee, Cooper played in 57 games, with 41 starts, totaling 123 tackles with 67 assists. He finished his career with 2.5 sacks, 13 tackles for loss and three passes defended.

After spending five years developing his skills under the guidance of Florida State defensive line coach Odell Haggins, Cooper will now have the opportunity to learn from Seattle Seahawks' defensive coordinator Clint Hurtt. Hurtt spent the last five seasons coaching the Seahawks' defensive line before being promoted to his current role. With Hurtt's experience and expertise, Cooper will have a chance to continue to develop his game at the next level.

Cooper will join Auburn Tigers defensive end Derick Hall, Mississippi State defensive tackle Cameron Young and Michigan defensive end Mike Morris as a part of the 2023 rookie squad.
