Former Illinois Football Running Back Joining Staff

Former Illinois Football running back Dre Brown has made his way home to Champaign. A Dekalb Native, Dre has spent the past 3 seasons in the recruiting department for Norte Dame. First, serving as an offensive analyst, before making the switch to the high school recruiting director. Bret Bielema has brought Dre on to the staff to replace
Nate McNeal as the Director of Player Personnel. Who, recently made the move to Syracuse.

Thoughts

Of course, Dre had a truly inspiring career for Illinois Football. He suffered multiple season-ending injuries to his knee. Furthermore leading to major surgeries, and long recovery periods. A really tough time for a guy who really enjoyed playing for his states flagship university. However, in a remarkable comeback, Dre was able to earn All-Big Ten honors for the Illini’s 2019 bowl team. After his career at Illinois, Dre quckly made his way to South Bend Indiana. Of course, to be a major part of the recruiting staff for one of the most prestigious programs in college football. As a Chicago area native, and someone with an impactful Illini story, Brown can bring a lot to recruiting for Illinois. Dre is a great person, who is widely liked by those around him. Certainly, Bielema hit a home run here from a personal standpoint.
