Mississippi State football head coach Jeff Lebby added wide receiver Kevin Coleman as a transfer on Thursday afternoon.

Coleman has made a couple of stops in his career; he originally signed with Deion Sanders and Jackson State before transferring to Louisville.

Coleman was a 4-star prospect coming out of high school. The 5-11 180-pound receiver has been productive in his seasons at Louisville.

In 2022, Coleman tallied 33 catches for 510 yards with three touchdowns. Last season, the player originally from St. Louis, Mo., took a step back but still produced solid numbers: 26 receptions, 362 yards, and a pair of touchdowns for the Cardinals.

What stands out for Coleman is his yards per catch, averaging 15 yards a reception in 2022 and 14 in 2023.

Lebby's offense continues to be attractive to recruits and potential transfers, and the Bulldogs are quietly putting together an eye-opening offensive haul through the portal. Coleman was the second addition at wide receiver, joining UTEP transfer Kelly Akharaiyi.

With Tulu Griffin's departure and Zavion Thomas's departure, the Bulldogs needed to add some playmakers out wide. Coleman is a solid get at a position needed.
