One of the more surprising decisions of the college football offseason was Ohio State quarterback Kyle McCord and wide receiver Julian Fleming entering the transfer portal. Both have immediately become top targets in the portal. Rumors have been swirling about both players ending up at another Big Ten program, the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Both players are planning to visit with that program this week.

Kyle McCord & Julian Fleming Set To Visit Nebraska This Week

Matt Rhule made the Cornhuskers look competitive for the first time in years in his first season. He is looking to make a big splash this offseason. Max Olson of  The Athletic reported that both McCord and Fleming are expected to visit the program this week. This would be a massive get for the program. Rhule has preached culture and so far it seems to be working great. If he were to land two former five-star recruits, it would be huge.

What Happened In Columbus?

It seems strange that these two players would want to leave the Buckeyes program. There are some things that make sense. Fleming has been a part of a crowded wide receiver room and playing time was limited. However, I think McCord especially got fed up with the fan base blaming him solely for the loss to Michigan. While McCord didn’t play lights out, he had a drive at the end of the game to win it. He is likely looking for a more welcoming fan base and the Cornhuskers would definitely love the season that he just had.

Will these two end up committing? There are many suitors but the fact that they both are visiting is a step in the right direction.
