The "Feed Moncrief" movement will see a revival on Dec. 30 as former Ole Miss Rebels wide receiver Donte Moncrief will serve as an honorary captain prior to the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, the game announced on Tuesday.
Moncrief suited up with the Rebels from 2011-13, and he was selected in the third round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts, a franchise he remained with through the 2017 season. In total, the wideout bounced around between seven NFL teams before hanging up his cleats in 2021.
In his Ole Miss career, Moncrief hauled in 156 receptions for 2,371 yards and 20 touchdowns, becoming one of the top wide receiver options in the early portions of the Hugh Freeze era in Oxford.
Moncrief and other honorary captains will join the teams at midfield for the coin toss prior to kickoff on Saturday.
The Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. CT on Dec. 30, and the game will be televised on ESPN.
