Freshman All-American CB Davison Igbinosun makes transfer decision

The rich get richer in college football. That's always been the case, and it's literally the case now that players can sign NIL deals and blue-chip programs can offer more than just their school tradition and spirit to top recruits.

Davison Igbinosun earned freshman All-America accolades at Ole Miss in 2022 after a season that saw him play in 13 games, start in 10 and come away with 37 tackles and five pass breakups for the Rebels.

Citing coaching-staff uncertainty, Igbinosun entered the transfer portal in mid-January, and it hasn't taken long for him to find a new college football home. In fact, some would say it's an upgrade in football home — going from Ole Miss to Ohio State.

This is a big-time get for the Buckeyes, who don't normally lack talent but will happily add more to the roster.

From Union, New Jersey, Igbinosun was the No. 21-ranked recruit prospect in the 2022 class as well as the top recruit from the state of New Jersey.

As a young player who already has starting experience — and from the SEC, no less — it's easy to predict that he'll have a major impact in Columbus sooner rather than later.
