Georgia poaches star RB from Florida

Trevor Etienne has a name you may recognize, as his older brother is Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne.

Florida football fans will recognize Etienne for the production he's provided for the Gators on the football field, though. In two seasons in Gainesville, he rushed 249 times for 1,472 yards and 14 touchdowns — averaging 5.9 yards per pop while splitting time with Montrell Johnson Jr.

That is impressive production, but unfortunately for the Gators, Etienne will be running for another team in 2024 and potentially beyond. The 5-foot-9, 205-pound back announced on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, that he'll be transferring to Georgia.

Etienne has a chance to immediately make an impact for Georgia and may even start for the Bulldogs in 2024. One has to believe that is one of the reasons he decided to transfer to UGA, along with Georgia's championship aspirations.

The Bulldogs are losing their two top rushers from this past season in seniors Daijun Edwards (819 yards, 11 touchdowns) and Kendall Milton (686 yards, 12 touchdowns).
