The 2024 NFL Combine is in full swing this weekend in Indianapolis, Indiana at Lucas Oil Field, home of the Indianapolis Colts. Teams across the league are getting a closer look at players that they hope will be future stars on their rosters. On Friday evening, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported that Georgia star tight end Brock Bowers will not be working out at the combine. The news was announced at Lucas Oil Field as the other tight ends were beginning their workouts on Friday evening.

Bowers was one of the most dominant players in college football the past three seasons, establishing himself as the nation’s top tight end. He’s a lock to be selected in the first round, with one recent mock draft projecting him to be selected at No. 14 by the New Orleans Saints.

The California native had his best season in 2022, when he hauled in 63 catches for 942 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. Bowers won the John Mackey Award (2022 and 2023) twice in his career, making him the only tight end in college football history to do so. He also brought home All-American honors three-times in his storied career, firmly cementing his status as one of the greatest tight ends in the history of the sport.

Bowers won unanimous All-American honors in 2023 and first team All-American honors in 2022. His freshman season, he didn’t wait long to explode onto the scene, earning SEC Freshman of the Year honors. He also played a critical role in leading the Georgia Bulldogs to two national championships (2021 and 2022) during his three seasons there.
