The Oklahoma State Cowboys have seen some departures in the transfer portal this offseason, but much less substantial than they date with last season. One of those transfers was the son of Mike Gundy, quarterback Gunnar Gundy.

Despite entering the transfer portal, Gundy was active in the Cowboys' bowl game as they took on Texas A&M in the Texas Bowl. Not only was he active, though, as he entered the game as the Cowboys were in the red zone. In his lone play on the drive, he rushed for ten yards and a touchdown.

It was one final moment for Mike Gundy to coach his son. For Gunnar, he had the opportunity to play in his final game as a Cowboy. Now, he is looking to find a new program that will offer more playing time for him as he was never able to find any substantial playing time at Oklahoma State.

Gundy has racked up offers from Ohio, Duquesne, Indiana State, Abilene Christian and Elon.

On the season, Gundy passed for 202 passing yards while completing 21 of his 34 passes and included a touchdown. He added 49 rushing yards on 15 attempts and an extra touchdown on the ground.

Gundy played at Oklahoma State for three years, throwing for 449 passing yards on 54.8 percent completion. He'll provide a solid impact for one of the programs that have offered, as they'll have good opportunity and a playing field better suited for Gundy.

As the season began, Gundy, Garret Rangel and Alan Bowman were in a quarterback battle. Eventually, Bowman won out and the Cowboys had more of an identity on the offensive side of the ball. Still, the flashes Gundy and Rangel showed in that time rotating at the quarterback position were solid and both players proved they can contribute at this level of football.
