Hurricanes TE Brevin Jordan declares for 2021 NFL draft

Miami Hurricanes tight end Brevin Jordan has announced via Twitter that he will forego his senior year and declare for the 2021 NFL Draft:

Jordan produced the best season of his collegiate career while playing for a Hurricanes side that ended the campaign with a record of 8-3. The 2019 first-team All-ACC selection earned second-team honors for 2020 and recorded 38 receptions for 576 receiving yards and seven touchdowns, all personal highs. He was named a semifinalist for the John Mackey Award, which is given to the player deemed the nation's top tight end.

As David Lake noted for 247Sports, Jordan routinely battled injuries while at Miami. The target listed at 6-foot-3 and 245 pounds never played in more than nine games in a college season.

Despite any concerns had by potential future employers, ESPN draft guru Mel Kiper Jr. listed Jordan as the fourth-best tight end in the 2021 class back on Dec. 17. Last weekend, however, Charlie Campbell of Walter Football ranked Jordan the second-best player at the position.

"Jordan played well for Miami in 2020, producing some big plays,"

Campbell wrote last Saturday. "Some team sources think Jordan has the potential to be a late second- or early third-rounder."
