Illinois Football Shows “Consistent Support” To Andre Lovett

Illinois football won a massive recruitment to start the week. On Monday, top in-state Athlete, Andre Lovett announced his verbal commitment to Illinois Football. Lovett is a dynamic athlete and ranks as one of those in-state recruits that Illinois football has to consistently land. Andre is a 6 foot 2, 170-pound athlete who chose Illinois over several power-five offers such as Purdue, Arizona State, and Iowa. As a result, the Blue Island native will likely vy at Safety given his impressive ball skills and athletic ability. However, he has shown the versatility to play anywhere in the defensive backfield.

Andre Lovett was kind enough to discuss his commitment with us.

Why Illinois?

Lovett: I appreciate the strong love, I’ve built with the staff, the love they’ve shown me, and especially the consistent support they’ve shown in recruiting me.

Bret Bielema and his staff have been recruiting Andre since his Sophomore year. He really highlighted the consistency and the constant communication that Bielema, Aaron Henry, and Terrance Jamison had with his circle.

Who’s next? And what’s your message to Illini Nation?

Lovett: A lot of guys! And I’m coming home!

In the future, look for guys like Brayden Trimble, Cameron Brooks, and Nathaniel Marshall to really headline Illinois Football’s summer recruiting efforts. Welcome, Andre!
