Mal Waldrep told Touchdown Alabama he will officially visit the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Waldrep attends Central Phenix City High School in Phenix City, Alabama, and the 2025 recruit currently garners a three-star rating from multiple recruiting sites. He will officially announce his top schools and all the schools he will officially visit on Friday.

Alabama’s new staff have been in contact with Waldrep, and the Tide’s head coach Kalen DeBoer let him know he is still one of their top guys when he personally visited Central in January.

“He is a great guy, let me know I’m still one of their big-time guys,” Waldrep told Touchdown Alabama after meeting DeBoer. “I enjoyed getting to know his background and kind of how they do things up there now.”

At 6-foot-5 and 295 pounds, Waldrep lines up at left tackle for the Red Devils. He has displayed impressive agility and the ability to finish blocks with his strength throughout this season so far. The 2025 recruit feels he can play anywhere along the offensive line.
