Deion Sanders received plenty of attention over the successful season he had at Jackson State during the fall, as well as the medical issues through which he persevered. But one story that didn’t receive too much attention was when Coach Prime trolled an opposing coach with a pink scooter.

Deion was going through major medical issues with his foot/toe and using a scooter or wheelchair to get around the field. In the leadup to Jackson State’s game against Alabama A&M, Alabama A&M coach Connell Maynor jabbed Deion.

“Coach Sanders, I hurt my ankle getting off the bus the other day,” Maynor joked. “You got an extra scooter for me? If you’ve got an extra scooter, send me one down here.”

Jackson State beat Maynor’s Alabama A&M squad 61-15 in that October game. After the beatdown, Sanders and his team left behind a pink scooter for Coach Maynor at midfield. Sanders signed it with a personal message for Maynor, too.

The whole thing was captured by Barstool Sports, which released the footage as part of the latest episode of “Coach Prime.”

Sanders says he is trying to take the high road most of the time, but he apparently couldn’t resist that opportunity. He led Jackson State to an 11-2 season and won the Eddie Robinson Award as the top FCS coach.
