Jalen Carter makes massive NFL Draft decision amid uncertainty

Georgia Bulldogs star defensive tackle Jalen Carter has made an interesting and massive decision ahead of the upcoming NFL Draft.

Agent Drew Rosenhaus has informed ESPN's Adam Schefter that Carter is declining visits with teams that are selecting outside the top 10 picks in the draft. Carter previously visited the Philadelphia Eagles and was scheduled to meet with the Chicago Bears on Monday.

The Eagles possess the draft's No. 10 selection, while the Bears own the ninth pick.

"I'm confident Jalen will go in the top 10," Rosenhaus told Schefter. "He's a good person, a family man, loves football and is a generational talent."

While Carter may be the most talented defensive player in his class, his draft stock among all teams is bound to become one of the biggest NFL stories of April. He recently pleaded no contest to misdemeanor charges of reckless driving and racing in connection with a Jan. 15 car wreck that claimed the lives of Georgia offensive lineman Devin Willock and recruiting staffer Chandler LeCroy.

Carter then struggled with positional drills at Georgia's pro day and reportedly was nine pounds heavier for those workouts than he was at the combine.

It was reported last week that "Carter is not an option" for the Las Vegas Raiders at draft pick No. 7, but Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels later refuted that claim.

In a mock draft published on March 11, ESPN's Todd McShay predicted Carter would fall out of the top 10 and to the Houston Texans at pick No. 12. On March 21, Mel Kiper Jr. of ESPN had Carter being selected by the Detroit Lions at choice No. 6 in his mock draft.

In their most recent mocks, five of six CBS Sports analysts had Carter listed as a top 10 pick. Chris Trapasso has Carter falling to the Seattle Seahawks at overall selection No. 20.
