Texas A&M Kam Dewberry should be ready to go for spring practice in 2024.

The sophomore offensive lineman underwent "successful surgery" for an undisclosed injury Tuesday afternoon. He posted to "X," formerly known as Twitter, that everything went smoothly.

A former five-star offensive tackle, Kewberry switched to guard after arriving in College Station from Atascocita in Humble (Texas). He appeared in seven games and made five starts at left guard down the stretch towards a 5-7 finish under Jimbo Fisher

Last season, Dewberry took over as the full-time starting left guard, recording 10 starts in 12 games. He was essential in helping with the mobility of third-string quarterback Jaylen Henderson down the stretch, who led the Aggies to a 2-1 record and a 7-5 regular season finish.

Dewberry is expected to remain a staple at left guard under new coach Mike Elko and his staff heading into 2024. Former starting right tackle Chase Bistonis could shift inside from right tackle to right guard with the departure of Layden Robinson.

The Aggies could also leave Bisontis on the outside and shift sophomore Mark Nabou to right guard permanently, depending on the thought process of new offensive line coach Adam Cushing. Nabou split reps between both guard spots and center during the regular season.

A&M finished the season 7-6 following its loss to No. 20 Oklahoma State in the TaxAct Texas Bowl. The Aggies open the season and the Elko era up against Notre Dame at Kyle Field on Aug. 31.
