Following Louisiana Tech's win against the UTEP Miners last week, much of the subsequent conversation about the Bulldogs has centered around the actions linebacker Brevin Randle. Randle's stomp on the head/neck area of UTEP offensive lineman Steven Hubbard was caught on film, but was not seen by game officials at the time.

Following the game, LA Tech head coach Sonny Cumbie and the school's athletic department issued a statement confirming that Randle had been suspended from the football program indefinitely. On Monday, Randle, via the university, released a statement apologizing for his actions.

The news of Randle's suspension and subsequent apology were first reported by Matt Belinson of the Ruston Leader.

"I want to apologize and take full accountability for my action towards Steven Hubbard and the UTEP football program," Randle's statement reads. "I am aware that my action was unacceptable and does not align with what Louisiana Tech or I stand for."

Through the first six games of the season, Randle totaled 46 tackles, with 23 of those being solo tackles. He also had two sacks on the season.

The Bulldogs continue their season October 5 when they host Western Kentucky.
