Lee Corso is retiring from College GameDay after he makes his final appearance on Aug. 30.

He will make his final appearance and headgear pick at a location that will be named later this spring. It could be in Columbus since Ohio State will play Texas in a Cotton Bowl rematch on Aug. 30.

He has loved every part of being on "College GameDay" for almost 30 years.

“My family and I will be forever indebted for the opportunity to be part of ESPN and 'College GameDay' for nearly 40 years, Corso said in a statement, via ESPN. “I have a treasure of many friends, fond memories, and some unusual experiences to take with me into retirement.”

Corso has made 430 headgear picks since "College GameDay" added that part to the end of each show, and according to ESPN, Corso has an all-time win rate of 66.5%. He even had a perfect season in 1999 when he went 11-0 with headgear picks.

He has picked 69 different teams throughout his career and has a record of 286-144. He is 17-0 when he picks USC with the school's headgear, 4-0 with Virginia Tech and 3-0 with North Dakota State.

Ohio State holds the record for most headgear selections among any school with 45. Alabama (38), LSU (25), Florida (22) and Oregon (21) round out the top five.

He will get to add one more headgear to the mix and make his 431st pick when "College GameDay" returns for the 2025 season.

Corso has given outstanding analysis on the show ever since it started, and his headgear picks always make for great theater.

Here's to one more great mascot pick when the popular show returns in a few months.
