LSU lands potential Jayden Daniels replacement in former Vanderbilt QB
With Heisman-winning quarterback Jayden Daniels heading off to the NFL, LSU head coach Brian Kelly will have plenty of work to do this offseason to replace him.
The good news for the Tigers is that redshirt sophomore quarterback Garrett Nussmeier, who is expected to start in LSU's ReliaQuest Bowl game against Wisconsin, is expected to be on the roster as a potential replacement in 2024.
The Tigers also just landed another intriguing option for the quarterback room next season. According to Shea Dixon of On3, LSU has landed a transfer commitment from former Vanderbilt quarterback AJ Swann.
As Dixon alluded to, Swann will enter a quarterback room that features the aforementioned Nussmeier as well as redshirt freshman Rickie Collins and 2024 four-star quarterback recruit Colin Hurley.
“Coach Kelly is chasing the Natty and I want to be a part of the reason we win it! Geaux Tigers!" Swann told Hayes Fawcett.
In Swann, LSU is at the very least getting experience.
In two seasons for the Commodores, he threw for 2,731 yards and 22 touchdowns with nine interceptions.
