With just a few hours remaining until the 2024 NFL Draft, we won’t have to wait much longer to find out where LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels will play at the next level. Even so, it was recently reported that the 2024 Heisman Trophy winner has a couple places in mind as potential “dream” franchises to land with.

Since the start of the 2024 NFL Draft process, LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels has increasingly found himself in an ideal position as far as his future earnings are concerned.
While he was viewed as a potential late first rounder – but more than likely a second or third round selection – heading into the 2023 college football season, it’s safe to say he’s beaten any and all expectations. After putting together a season that included 3,812 yards passing, 1,134 yards rushing, 50 total touchdowns and an eventual Heisman Trophy victory, the 6-foot-4, 210-pound San Bernardino, CA, product is now viewed as a potential top-three selection heading into this evening’s draft.
Interestingly enough, while this is incredible from an earnings and overall stock perspective, it might not actually line up with his potential “dream world.” In relation to his future franchise, his ideal landing spots might actually be slightly lower than where he’s currently being projected.
According to Dianna Russini of The Athletic, the talented quarterback’s preferences actually lie with the Las Vegas Raiders under coach Antonio Pierce or the Minnesota Vikings under coach Kevin O’Connell.
Both franchises make sense as far as a “dream world” goes for very different reasons. Raiders coach Antonio Pierce was the former assistant coach at Arizona State while Daniels was with the Sun Devils, while the Vikings are home to elite wide receiver and LSU legend Justin Jefferson.
As fun as those combinations might be to think about, it’s important to note that they might be fairly unrealistic heading into tonight’s 2024 NFL Draft. The far and away favorites to land the talented quarterback are either the Washington Commanders at No. 2 overall or the New England Patriots at No. 3. For context, the Raiders and Vikings have the No. 13 and No. 11 picks respectively.
The draft will officially get started this evening at 7:00 p.m. CST in Detroit, MI, and will be available to watch live on ABC, ESPN and NFL Network.
