Michigan football legend Zak Zinter updated his injury status at the NFL draft combine on Friday.

There were a lot of memorable moments for Michigan football during the 2024 season. One moment fans would love to forget though was the horrific injury to offensive lineman Zak Zinter.

Zinter broke his leg in the Michigan football win over Ohio State. He suffered the broken leg in the third quarter, right after Ohio State had tied up the game.

The momentum shifted and then Zinter was injured. That’s when Blake Corum broke out for a touchdown run and flashed the six-five in the end zone.

Michigan won the game and the national championship. However, Zinter didn’t play again for the Wolverines as he missed the final three games due to the broken leg.

Zinter still traveled with the team and his contributions to Team 144 can’t be measured. He’s an elite player and he’s going to be elite from day one in the NFL.

That’s my opinion at least and on that front, Zinter offered an important update. NFL teams have to wonder if he’ll be ready to play in the 2024 season, but on Saturday, the Michigan football legend told reporters that he’ll be ready “in a month.” He also said he’ll be “football ready.”

Zinter isn’t taking part in any of the combine drills, but if you want to know what he can do, just put on the tape. The dude is an elite offensive guard and while his stock likely dropped, some NFL team will get a day-one starter when they select Zinter in the 2024 NFL draft.
