If you’re a fan of the Wolverines, you know how successful the school’s NIL program has been as of late. This week, Michigan football star Donovan Edwards — a junior running back for the Wolverines — inked a new major NIL deal with Powerade.

Michigan football star inks new NIL deal

So far this fall, Donovan Edwards has yet to truly have a breakout game. Still, when he’s on the field, defenses take note, largely because of his potential to rip a massive touchdown run at any point. Heading into this weekend’s matchup against Nebraska, the Wolverines’ first road game of the year, a new NIL deal was announced for Edwards.

According to a post on Edwards’ Instagram account, the Michigan football running back is now partnered with prominent sports drink company Powerade.

Donovan Edwards looking to increase production this weekend

As Donovan Edwards continues to progress as a running back this fall, keep an eye on the Michigan football star to eventually have a massive breakout game. Last fall, Edwards was pretty quiet until the Wolverines’ matchup against No. 10 Penn State, where he ran for nearly 170 yards on the Nittany Lions, leading Michigan to a 41-17 victory all said and done.

So far this year, Michigan football has given Donovan Edwards 44 total touches for 209 all-purpose yards and no touchdowns. While the staff is not worried about Edwards’ low numbers, it is still something that the junior RB is looking to change, perhaps as early as this weekend against Nebraska.
