Michigan running backs Blake Corum, Donovan Edwards combine for 339 rushing yards in win over Penn State

Final scores can be deceiving. That was the case in Michigan's 41-17 win over Penn State.

It shouldn't have even been that close.

For the second year in a row, Penn State proved the 5-0 record it brought into the game was a mirage. The Wolverines pounced on their vulnerable prey.

Running back Blake Corum's Heisman stock continued to rise with another impressive performance but it was his teammate, Donovan Edwards, that was even more of a threat against the Nittany Lions.

The two combined for 339 rushing yards and continued Michigan's hot streak. They are now 7-0 on the season and 4-0 in Big Ten. Since the start of the 2021 season, Michigan is 19-2.

After spending years stuck in neutral, coach Jim Harbaugh's found a formula that has Michigan back among college football's elite. In 2021, Michigan averaged 214.4 rushing yards per game. After their win over Penn State (5-1, 2-1 in Big Ten), Michigan is averaging 241.7 yards on the ground this season.

Per ESPN, Michigan has a great shot to enter this year's game against Ohio State undefeated. Over their next few games, ESPN analytics gives the Wolverines great chances to beat Michigan State (89.3 percent), Rutgers (93.5), Nebraska (95.9) and Illinois (88.4).

Corum and Edwards led the Wolverines on Saturday, but as they made clear in a postgame video, everyone was a contributor.

Chances are this won't be the last time these Wolverines go crazy.
