Michigan State has had a real frustrating night against their fiercest rival, and things got uglier early in the third quarter.

During a play in which MSU quarterback Katin Houser threw an interception to Michigan nickelback Mike Sainristil, Spartan offensive tackle Spencer Brown was tangled up with Michigan defensive end Braiden McGregor. During Sainristil's return for a touchdown, Brown threw McGregor to the field and dived at him, leading with his helmet and driving towards the head of McGregor.

I understand that emotions are running high, particularly in a rivalry as heated as this one has been over the last several years. However, you can't have your redshirt senior offensive tackle doing stuff like this. To be honest, the game had been played very cleanly up to this point, and interim head coach Harlon Barnett deserves credit for that. However, Brown's hit took all of that away.
