Florida State star quarterback Jordan Travis will tragically never play another snap for the Seminoles after his final season in Tallahassee was cut short by a horrendous leg injury he suffered in last Saturday's win against North Alabama. Backup quarterback Tate Rodemaker was thrust into the game with FSU down by 13 and led a comeback 58-13 victory as the 'Noles moved to 11-0.

The Seminoles are now preparing for the Florida Gators this weekend. Although Rodemaker has been preparing and working like a starter, the spotlight will be different as a Saturday will be just the second start of his career.

Florida State head coach Mike Norvell met with the media after Tuesday's practice and was pleased with the team overall but spoke on what it looks like with Rodemaker as the primary guy under center.

"It's a little different role for him as of what he gets to do and how he gets to do it," Norvell said about Rodemaker. "But the mindset and the approach is no different than what he's done throughout the course of the season."

There are questions surrounding whether or not Rodemaker has chemistry with his teammates, and although he was not perfect on the day, the growth and production were there.

"He had a couple plays that we'll continue to improve upon. But I thought he threw the ball really well, made really good decisions for the most part."

Rodemaker threw for 217 yards and two touchdowns last weekend and has primarily served as a backup. The success he's shown thus far has been his work and the chemistry he has developed with his players.

"Tate's been working. He's got plenty of work with the ones throughout the fall. And there's obviously things that you got to have looks at and things that you got to make sure that the consistency, the timing, but, that you can see," Norvell said. "I mean, today, the timing, the rhythm, you know, all those things"
