From one walking highlight reel to another, it appears the Ole Miss Rebels are in good hands when it comes to arm strength.

Outfielder Treyson Hughes made a terrific play in Ole Miss' 5-3 win over Louisiana-Monroe on Tuesday afternoon, sliding to make a catch near the right field line, popping to his feet and gunning down a runner at third. The play drew national attention, even coming in at No. 2 on SportsCenter's Top 10 plays of the day.

As if that wasn't enough hype for one day, Hughes took to social media to extend a challenge after the play...one that found the social media handle of Rebels quarterback Jaxson Dart

"Hey Dart, wanna have a throwing competition?" Hughes wrote from his X account.

"Mine or yours??" Dart replied. "I'm good with either," followed by baseball and football emojis.

Hughes has started to come into form in the early portions of this baseball season along with the rest of his team, playing a part both in the field and at the plate as the Rebels have won 11 of their last 12 games on the diamond.

A transfer from Mercer, Hughes started slowly on offense, but his batting average has slowly climbed to .259 for the season, and he has accounted for 10 RBIs.

As far as Dart is concerned, he has his eyes set on a national title in 2024, or at the very least a College Football Playoff berth. The Ole Miss quarterback announced his intent to return to Oxford for his senior season back in January, and he is joined by a plethora of returning talent and incoming contributors from the transfer portal.

Coming off the program's first-ever 11-win season, Dart and the Rebels are one of the trendiest picks to reach the newly-expanded College Football Playoff field in 2024, a group that will now feature 12 schools.
