Mother, daughter reportedly injured after Fresno State coach punches window during Saturday's game

The Fresno State Bulldogs rallied from behind to defeat the San Jose State Spartans and notch a 17-10 homecoming victory this past Saturday but are in headlines at the start of the midweek for a reason related to an off-the-field matter.

Per Grayson Weir of Outkick, a mother and her young daughter identified as Fresno State fans suffered lacerations after a Bulldogs coach allegedly punched out a window late in the second quarter of Saturday's game following a San Jose State touchdown. The two victims received treatment at Valley Children’s Hospital, and Jenna Lemoncelli of the New York Post noted that one of the individuals reportedly required stitches.

Fresno State athletic director Terry Tumey declined to name the coach involved but said the person wasn't one of the Bulldogs' 11 on-field coaches for Saturday's matchup.

"At this point, we’re trying to figure out what’s going on with all that transpired. But I can definitely tell you that the individual that acted in that way will be placed on administrative leave, effective immediately," Tumey said on Saturday. "We have to have some disciplinary action until we can figure out what transpired. But our biggest concern right now, quite honestly, is our fans and the young woman, the child, and her mother."

It's unknown how long the coach will be out on administrative leave.

2-4 Fresno State next plays at the 2-5 New Mexico Lobos this coming Saturday.
