STARKVILLE, Miss. — After suffering a shoulder injury during  Southern Michigan, Mississippi State Bulldogs quarterback Will Rogers made a return to the field Saturday and led the  41-20 victory against Southern Miss.

With the help interim head coach Greg Knox, the team saw an exciting victory in Davis Wade. Rogers alone put up 144 yards and two touchdowns. This strong comeback motivated the Bulldogs to work even harder to see the same results this Thursday when the team takes on Ole Miss.

The game began with a rough first quarter lowering hopes with USM in the lead 7-3. However, MSU rose back up and took control of the game en rout to the lopsided win.

With the victory, following three losses, a positive turn left an exciting atmosphere.

Rogers kept his position, leading the team all four quarters, taking up the whole game. Although Mike Wright has done well in Roger's place the past two games, Rogers came back strong and lead the team for what could be the second-to-last time.

This Thursday, at 6:30 PM the Egg Bowl will kick off, and this iconic rivalry game will be the last battle at home for Rogers. This season, Rogers has collected 1,275 yards, 10 touchdowns, four interceptions, and 23 carries.

With one last game to go, this upcoming game will be important for his career. The team needs one more win to get bowl eligibility, and with one game left, the Bulldogs will have to give it all they have for one more victory.
