Nebraska football is a favorite to land an offense of tackle prospect as of Monday afternoon. 2025 three-star offensive tackle Sean Hammerbeck is favored to go to Lincoln, according to the On3 Recruiting prediction machine.

He visited Nebraska football on Saturday, and received an offer that same day.

The Huskers and South Dakota State Coyotes are the leading schools and his recruitment so far. North Dakota State and Kansas State are also involved in his recruitment at this time.

Hammerbeck is a three-star recruit. He is the 37th overall   offensive tackle in the 2025 class, and the top player in his class from the state of South Dakota per the On3 Recruiting Rankings.

He played both sides the football in high school, on both offensive and defensive line. On the offensive line, he was able to extend his hands quickly and use his strengths to create running lanes. That strength translated to the passing game as well. He was able to hold his ground and to give his quarterback enough time in the pocket.

On the defensive side of football, his athleticism was on full display. As soon as the ball was snapped, he was able to all rush his way into the offensive backfield. This is where we really saw his size come into play. He was able to fill gaps quickly, and get after the running back in the backfield. In addition to his ability to fill gaps, he was also able to come off the edge. Hammerbeck used his agility and quickness to get around his man quickly.

What could he bring to Nebraska football?

He is certainly an intriguing prospect, and excelled at both sides of the football at the high school level. My educated guess it would be that Nebraska would use him more on the offensive line. However, developing defensive recruits for the future is important to, as Nebraska look to fill the shoes of Ty Robinson and Nash Hutmacher following graduation.

It will be interesting to see what this recruitment leads to. It seems like it’s moving relatively quickly, and that his visit over the weekend certainly made a strong impression. Nebraska football has been known to find diamond-in-the-rough recruits and Hammerbeck would certainly fit in that category, at least for now.
