Nevada to hire Oregon co-defensive coordinator Ken Wilson as head coach

Ken Wilson is rejoining the Wolf Pack.

Per ESPN senior writer Mark Schlabach, the University of Nevada is set to hire University of Oregon co-defensive coordinator as its next head coach. Before spending the past nine seasons with Washington State and Oregon, Wilson had been with the Wolf Pack for 19 seasons, including five as assistant head coach and four as defensive coordinator.

Wilson will be replacing Jay Norvell at the helm of the Wolf Pack, as Norvell left for a gig with Colorado State earlier this week.

During his time with the Ducks, Wilson helped the team earned back-to-back Pac-12 championships in 2019 and 2020, and the program captured 11 league titles. In 1996, as the youngest defensive coordinator in Division I, Wilson was with Nevada when they finished 9-3 and defeated Ball State in the Las Vegas Bowl.
