Former Florida State star running back Dalvin Cook has had an extended free agency, and this led to him meeting with the New York Jets during their training camp.

The Jets are an appealing fit for Cook as they've got a future Hall of Fame quarterback in Aaron Rodgers. However, the two are quite familiar with each other already, as they shared the same division with their old teams.

"Yeah, I've seen him firsthand a lot of times," Rodgers said in a press conference. "We had a game against him early in the season, I think we tied, and he changed the course of that game. We were kind of beating him up in the course of the game. First play of the second half and he went 75 untouched for a touchdown."

The two star players battled out plenty when Cook was with the Minnesota Vikings and Rodgers was with the Green Bay Packers. Now, the two could make a dynamic duo for the Jets if Cook decides to sign with them.

"He was able to always impact the game. Tough guy but also elusive. Good one cut guy, speed, power. Good out of the backfield," Rodgers said.

With other weapons like Garrett Wilson and Breece Hall, Cook adds more elusiveness and makes the offense that much more dynamic and less predictable.

"I love the guys that we've got. There's a lot of talent there. A lot of opportunity, but any time you can add a veteran player, you'd be excited about that for sure," Rodgers continued.

For Rodgers, it makes sense to add as much talent as possible to equip him to bring a Super Bowl to New York. The Jets' defense is incredibly solid, so any added offense, especially without any outgoing player or picks, is a win.

The former Seminoles star and all-time rushing leader is going to be a spark for any team that he lands with during his free agency.
