With less than a week remaining before the kickoff of the 2024 NFL Draft, the prevailing consensus is that quarterbacks will be selected with the top three picks, slated for the Chicago Bears, Washington Commanders, and New England Patriots.

The spotlight is on three standout players expected to lead the draft: Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, and Jayden Daniels.

However, speculation mounts regarding the Commanders’ second overall pick, with debates swirling over whether Maye or Daniels will land the coveted spot.

Caleb Williams emerges as the frontrunner for the Bears’ first overall pick, while the Commanders’ decision at No. 2 remains shrouded in mystery. Analysts speculate on the potential selections, but there’s a palpable uncertainty surrounding Maye and Daniels.

ESPN’s Mike Greenberg asserts that the reigning Heisman Trophy winner from LSU may not be on the Commanders’ radar when everything is said and done.

“I would bet that when push comes to shove, he is not going to be the second pick.”

As anticipation builds for Washington’s pivotal pick, all eyes are on their impending decision. Nonetheless, one thing appears certain: whichever player the Commanders choose, the Patriots are poised to select the other, be it Maye or Daniels.

Both prospects present enticing options for the Commanders, each harboring the potential to redefine the franchise and make substantial impacts at the NFL level.

Whether or not Jayden Daniels ends up going No. 2 overall, he has a bright NFL future. It will be interesting to see what the top three picks in the 2024 NFL Draft look like when they’re officially made.
