There are numerous wide receivers who could end up going in the top 10 of the NFL Draft this week, but former NFL defensive back and current analyst Charles Davis thinks Malik Nabers is different.

During a recent chat with Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team, Davis explained why he likes Nabers so much.

“He runs every route like it’s personal,” Davis said. … “It’s not just powerful, it’s not just an angry route. It’s everything else with a little bit of extra style to it. … He’s Michael Jordan-esque in this way: he thinks everything is a slight if you’re not putting him at the top.”

Davis adds that the LSU product will channel that competitive fire positively on the NFL level and thinks that whoever drafts him will be “thrilled.”

Nabers is coming off of a fantastic 2023 campaign in which he hauled in 89 receptions for 1,569 yards and 14 touchdowns.

The 20-year-old arrived at LSU in 2021 and made minimal impact at first, logging 28 catches for 417 yards and four scores.

Then, the following year, Nabers broke out, catching 72 passes for 1,017 yards while reaching the end zone three times.

Nabers is widely viewed as the second-best receiver in this draft class behind Ohio State’s Marvin Harrison Jr., and Davis thinks the New York Giants could be a fit for him at No. 6.

If the Los Angeles Chargers end up keeping the fifth overall selection, they also could represent a potential landing spot for Nabers, as they parted ways with both Keenan Allen and Mike Williams this offseason.

We’ll see where Malik Nabers ends up this Thursday.
