Nick Saban 'doing great' after COVID-19 diagnosis

Alabama head coach Nick Saban tested positive for coronavirus on Wednesday afternoon, but he's hoping he won't have to miss the Crimson Tide's matchup with No. 3 Georgia on Saturday.

Saban appeared on his weekly radio show from home on Thursday night, and told listeners that he's asymptomatic, according to ESPN's Alex Scarborough.

"I'm doing great," Saban said. "I don't have any symptoms. I don't have a fever."

With Saban still in quarantine, he likely won't be able to travel to the stadium for Saturday's game. He also won't be able to communicate with anyone on the staff while the game goes on, according to NCAA rules.

The 69-year-old has overseen practices via Zoom from his home this week and revealed he's been able to do everything he's normally done in preparation for the game.

If Saban has three negative tests, including the second in a 24-hour span, he could be cleared to return to athletic activities. However, if he's unable to be on the sideline, Alabama offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian would assume the role of head coach.

Alabama is looking for their fourth win of the season after beating Missouri, Texas A&M and Ole Miss during the first three weeks of the season.
